Indeni, the leader in security operations monitoring, today announced the latest software release of its flagship product , indeni v. 1.7.0. "We continue to look at the system from the administrator viewpoint regarding ease of use and speed to deployment of monitored devices," says Yonadav Leitersdorf, indeni CEO. "Our entire focus on the latest software is on usability and functionality to reduce troubleshooting time and free IT personnel for more productive tasks."
To support that goal, new features in the latest software of indeni 1.7.0 include enhanced SNMP trapping, setup, and certification; enhanced search capabilities; recognition of known devices and the ability to add multiple devices at once.
A key function of the indeni security monitoring system has always been sending alert information to users via SNMP traps so that indeni alerts are available on the user's main operations console. In this latest software release , indeni modified the contents and the number of traps sent by the system to ensure that setting up SNMP integration is as easy as possible.

Amazon today launched two digital downloads stores for Mac software,so now one can buy software thats genuine directly from Amazon.
The new stores, picked up by The Loop, cover games and applications. Altogether, Amazon's got 252 pieces of software up for sale, the majority of which are applications versus game titles. So if one needs to buy software applications one can shop for it in Amazon.
Just like Apple's Mac App Store where one can buy software for all Apple products, which is how the company sells both its own and third-party Mac software, Amazon users can redownload applications if they somehow misplace the file they get to download, once they buy software from Amazon.
However, unlike with Apple's offering when you buy software, there's no mechanism to keep applications up to date when you buy software from Amazon as its something Amazon has left up to software makers.
So far there's already a handful of software that cannot be found on the Mac App Store, including Microsoft's Office for Mac 2011, which is being promoted heavily.
As part of the store launch, Amazon is offering buyers a $5 discount when you buy software on any Mac game or software purchase through June 1, 2011.

The US Central Command (Centcom) has purchased software that is designed to create false online personas for what it calls "information operations". The software allows one member of the US Military to control up to ten fake accounts, to mimic civilians living in other countries. Each fake profile contains background, history, supporting details, and cyber presences that are technically, culturally and geographically consistent.
The profiles are also masked with IP addresses that make them look like they are being posted from one of several designated locations. A Centcom spokesperson said that the technology supports classified blogging on foreign language websites, in a bid to counter violent extremist and enemy propaganda outside the US. The software could potentially be used for countering disinformation campaigns, military deception, computer network operations or hacking.
